For the first time in five years, 2 Chainz stopped by Power 106 Los Angeles to deliver a smooth freestyle over the instrumental to Pharcyde’s classic 1993 single “Passin’ Me By.”

The Atlanta emcee effortlessly flows on the J-Swift produced beat, spitting bars about his rags to riches story on his latest L.A. Leakers freestyle.  “Thank you, NFL. I really appreciate the bag/Son of a gun, I really appreciate my dad,” he raps in the brief but perfectly delivered freestyle. “Album on the way, I did it for the leakers.” The last time 2 Chainz took on a track for the Leakers was back in 2017 when he rapped over Kendrick Lamar’s “DNA.”

2 Chainz is preparing to drop his seventh studio album, Dope Don’t Sell Itself. The album is set to arrive this Friday (February 4), as Chainz detailed the project’s tracklist and features just last week. The star-studded album features contributions from the likes of Lil Baby, 42 Dugg, Roddy Ricch, Lil Durk, Swae Lee, and YoungBoy Never Broke Again.

2 Chainz also recently revealed that he and Lil Wayne have been hard at work on another collaborative album, following their 2016 joint effort, ColleGrove. “We were in the studio together,” the rapper explained to DJ Akademiks on his Off the Record podcast. “I think the last time we were in the studio together maybe twice. This time, we’ve been in the studio together multiple times working on this project. Whether going back in after we’ve done something or whatever.”
