50 Cent added his opinion to the ongoing chatter surrounding the Motion Picture Academy's official decision to ban Oscar-winner Will Smith from the awards show for the next ten years. Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 94th Annual Academy Awards has been the talk of entertainment for weeks now, and 50 shared his reaction to the banning via Twitter.

“Got Damn they doing Will dirty. This is too harsh so he cant come back till he 63 years old,” he tweeted on Friday (April 8). “And the law suit ain’t even hit yet. SMH”

At the March 27th ceremony, Smith walked on stage and struck Rock after Rock made a joke about Smith's wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith. In the subsequent weeks, the incident has been picked apart by news media, podcasts, and virtually everyone across social media. Smith would go on to win the Oscar for Best Actor, apologizing to the Academy--but not to Rock--in a tearful acceptance speech. In the fallout that ensued, Smith resigned from the Academy, before the Academy announced his ban.
