50 Cent's Reference Vocals From The Game's Debut Album Surface Online

What appears to be 50 Cent's reference vocals for "Higher" from The Game's 2005 album The Documentary have surfaced online, reportedly from a recovered hard drive.

On the recording, 50 is reciting the rhymes in the same style and cadence that The Game spits them over the Dr. Dre and Mark Batson produced beat. 50 Cent maintains that he wrote half a dozen or so songs on the album that were all originally intended for 50's The Massacre. Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine persuaded him to give then to The Game. 50 says that Dre and Jimmy told him that The Game was talented, but needed help. 50 claims that they told him: "The kid can rap, but he's not a great songwriter."

The Game has consistently denied 50's 15-year claim that he wrote or contributed most if the hits on The Documentary. It's public knowledge that 50 contributed to "Hate Or Love It," "How We Do" and "West Side Story."

The Game's long awaited album Drillmatic: Heart vs Mind is scheduled to drop tomorrow (8/12). The title has ties to Nas' classic Illmatic debut as well as Chicago rapper Lil Durk and London's Hip-Hop sub-genre.

The Game sat down with HipHopDX recently and clarified the origins of the title. "Originally I gave the title to Durk because he's from the Chi. I text Durk like, 'Yo, call your next album 'Drillmatic,' and he was like, 'Yo that's fire'. Two years passed and he didn't call nothin 'Drillmatic' so I was like, 'Ima reel that back in.'"
