Dr. Dre is headlining this year's star-studded Super Bowl Halftime Show. And ever since the announcement of the Dre-affiliate heavy lineup, fans have wondered why 50 Cent was absent from the legendary lineup.
Pepsi, Roc Nation and the NFL announced the halftime show as “43 Grammy’s, 19 number 1 Billboard albums and 5 legendary artists on the biggest stage in Los Angeles.” But 50, who was one of the biggest stars on Dre's Aftermath Entertainment in the early 2000s, hasn't been mentioned. 50 has remained tight-lipped about the performance, though he did discuss the show with Drew Barrymore recently on her talk show.
"I'm excited to see the show," 50 said. "That’s probably the best lineup I’ve seen at a Super Bowl halftime show.”
A video clip of “In Da Club” being performed at the SoFi stadium (where Super Bowl LVI takes place this year) by a live band surfaced online recently, fueling speculation that 50 might make a guest appearance. Fans also speculate that Dre's ex-N.W.A. bandmate Ice Cube could make an appearance, as well. Dr. Dre recently referred to the upcoming halftime show as “an unforgettable cultural moment.”
