Archie Eversole, the Atlanta rapper who scored a hit in 2002 with the crunk anthem "We Ready," has died at age 37. Sources close to his family confirmed Eversole's death to Atlanta radio station Hot 107.9.

Eversole was only 17 when "We Ready" stormed the charts at the height of the crunk era. The song featured Bubba Sparxxx and it interpolated the melody from the popular 1969 hit "Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)" by Steam. "His debut album Ride Wit Me Dirty South Style achieved gold status, as "We Ready" became a popular staple at sporting events across the South. An army brat who was born in Germany, Eversole was raised in the Atlanta suburb of College Park.

In 2018, he was asked to create the theme song "United We Conquer" in 2018 for the Atlanta United team of the Major League Soccer. News of his death sparked immediate reactions across social media. 'The man who gave us 'We Ready, the greatest Game Day anthem ever, has passed away at 37 years old," tweeted NFL star Robert Griffin III. "Rest In Peace Archie Eversole. Prayers up to his family and loved ones."

According to FOX 5 Atlanta, DeKalb County police have charged a man with murder for the death of his brother. Sources have confirmed that Alexander Krause, has been taken into custody. Officials tell FOX 5 that Arthur "Archie" Eversole was found shot on March 25 at a Chevron on the 4400 block of Snapfinger Woods Drive. Kraus is his brother, and was found at the location of the shooting.
