Bow Wow is looking back at the beginnings of his career. It's no secret that Bow Wow was discovered by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, and early on, it looked like the child star was going to land on the infamous Death Row Records. In an interview with HipHopDX, the Ohio-born rap star talked about how he came to make a cameo appearance in the video for Snoop's 1993 hit single "Gin & Juice."

“We moved to LA right after,” he explained to DX. “And it was really them starting to implement me around Snoop and the Death Row family. And I guess once they drew up the write-up for the ‘Gin & Juice’ video, they was like, ‘Yo, we need some bad kids. Jumping on the couch.’ And they was like, ‘Well, we just found this little kid in Ohio we’re about to sign: throw him in there.’ Which was smart.”

That video famously opened with a group of rambunctious kiddies jumping on the couch before being cleared away by an elder woman and scolded by a man, presumably an uncle, played by the late Ricky Harris. Bow Wow also contributed to Snoop's Doggstyle album, another early indicator of where his career was heading.

“That’s me doing all the voices on Doggystyle, Snoop’s first album,” he added. “All the kid voices. It’s like I was born to act, born to entertain. I was born to do what I do.”
