Cormega: "I Waited a Year for a Nas Feature"

Queensbridge wordsmith Cormega was a recent guest on Math Hoffa's 'In My Expert Opinion' where he expressed the importance of patience, and how it helped him to secure producers and features for his latest project, 'The Realness II.'

"I was sending Nas beats from all over the world," he said. "I'm talkin' fire too! He didn't want this one, the other one was too slow. Then I sent him the beat that homie fronted on and he said, 'I liked this one.' So if dude had did the verse, I wouldn't have had a Nas song."

Mega also stressed the need for empathy. "You gotta know when to say fuck you to somebody in a smooth way, and you have to have empathy and be patient," he said. "Let's just say that I would have been impatient with this album. A lotta things wouldn't have happened. I waited for my Nas verse for a year, but I understand that he's busy. I'm busy, there's people that wait for me!"

Cormega dropped his latest project The Realness II back in October. The 13-song project contains features by Nas, Lloyd Banks, and Havoc and brings back producers Havoc, The Alchemist, Sha Money XL and Big Ty. Additional production comes from Domingo, Harry Fraud, Large Professor, Street Runner, Popsyyz and Cam. Cormega attributes his patience to many of the guest features on the album.

"Me being patient benefited me," he explained. "That's how I got Harry Fraud, Lloyd Banks, Nas and Street Runner. I didn't wanna rush the album, I was patient and it came out beautiful."
