Dave Chappelle found himself in a scary situation. The comedy superstar was tackled by a man during his performance at the famous venue, the two men tussled on the floor before security grabbed the man backstage. According to ABC7, Chappelle "appeared to run toward the altercation, saying the man was being 'stomped,' then asked repeatedly for security to remove the man from stage."

Comedian Chris Rock had performed earlier, and he came onstage afterwards with his friend Chappelle and quipped:

"Los Angeles police confirmed to Eyewitness News that they responded to an incident at the Hollywood Bowl around 10:45 p.m. and a man who was reportedly armed with a gun and a knife was taken into custody," ABC7 reports.

The incident occurs several weeks after Will Smith's infamous slap of Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards. That moment has been hyper-discussed and analyzed by pundits, critics and comedians; many of whom have asked if there is growing danger for comedians. It was just announced this week that Chappelle is hitting the road with rap legend Busta Rhymes for the Dave & Busta Tour.

Chappelle continued with his show after the incident. More on this story as it develops.
