On the latest episode of ROCK THE BELLS' Did You Know we chronicle Clyde Stubblefield, one of James Brown's drummers and the man who played on one of music's most sample songs "The Funky Drummer."

Stubblefield also played on more popular James Brown hits such as "Give It Up Or Turn It Loose", "Sex Machine", "Say It Loud (I'm Black And I'm Proud)" and "I Got The Feelin'." Although "The Funky Drummer" was not a hit upon its initial 1970 release, by the mid 80's it was a heavily used drum break in Hip-Hop, and by the 1990's it had become interpolated in pop, R&B,club, and many forms of popular music.
