Flo Rida Awarded $82M in Celsius Lawsuit: "I've Gained New Respect for the Judicial System"

A Florida jury has awarded rapper Flo Rida with $82.6 million dollars in his lawsuit against Celsius energy drink. The popular rapper entered into an endorsement deal with Celsius that ran from 2014-2018, and during that time says he introduced the drink to millions worldwide.

According to the lawsuit, the partnership enabled Celsius to expand its product portfolio, adding a powder and new product line called Celsius Heat in conjunction with Flo Rida's partnership. According to Law&Crime, Flo Rida’s team lawyer said in closing arguments he wanted the 1% ownership of the company he was previously promised, and not necessarily a dollar amount. Ultimately, the jury found that not only did Celsius breach its 2014 agreement with the "Low" rapper, but it also hid information relating to the breach.

"God is Good. I want to thank the jury, Judge Haimes, my attorneys at Kelley/Uustal - John Uustal, Christina Pearson, D3M and my Strong Arm team" Flo Rida said in response to the jury decision. "This was a long journey, but we prevailed. From the start, I only wanted what I worked for, nothing more, nothing less. I was instrumental in the Celsius that you know and love today. When this journey began no one knew Celsius", he added. "I took Celsius all over the world through my videos, concerts, appearances, and social media. I have gained a new respect for the judicial system. God bless America.”
