Kanye West's 'Late Orchestration' Hits Streaming Services

In 2005, Kanye West traveled across the pond to London’s famous Abbey Road Studios to record a medley of tracks from his first two studio albums in front of an intimate audience of 300 fans, backed by a 7-person all-female string orchestra.

The performance was recorded and released as a 13-track live album in 2006 titled Late Orchestration, released after his sophomore album Late Registration. Lupe Fiasco, GLC, John Legend, and Consequence all make guest appearances throughout the show.

While it was released as a CD and DVD, the live project never found its way onto streaming services until fans noticed it quietly popping up via Universal Music Group Recordings on Tuesday night (February 8). The release comes just days ahead of Netflix’s Jeen-Yuhs documentary surrounding Kanye West’s life on February 16.

The compilation album blends hip-hop and classical music, including hits such as “Touch The Sky,” “Through the Wire,” “All Falls Down,” “Jesus Walks,” and “Gold Digger.”

On Monday night (February 9), Kanye West hosted an exclusive listening party for his upcoming album Donda 2 at Malibu’s Nobu restaurant for his A-list friends, attendees include Drake, Travis Scott, Baby Keem, and Justin LaBoy.

Donda 2 is expected to arrive on February 22, which is, of course, assuming Kanye doesn't change his mind. Stay tuned for more on this and other hip-hop news.
