On Monday (9/5), Hip-Hop fashion designer and Complex founder Marc Ecko shared that he'd been pitched a potential film version of the 2006 video game Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure. Ecko posted a 40-second trailer from director Elliott Montello.

"When I saw the work that Montello did, and all the amazing favors he pulled just to get me on a Zoom call, I could not ignore the universes poke," Ecko said.

"To my day ones…I know. This is NOT Getting UP 2, the video-game," he explained for the die-hard fans of the video game. "I have not given up on the dream. In between life and work, I have prototyped…and have explored pursuing it. For now I am drawn to words and the STORY. I have been developing an adaptation of the game story into something contemporary, but still LOYAL to the original canon of material."

"When I was working with Marc he had this idea of a video game about bombing," wrote MC Serch of the respective film. "I was asked to voice the character Gabe. Now the game is a movie. It’s incredible what Marc’s image has become in terms of not just fashion, but film, content and culture. And I got to be a clock too hahaha. Stay tuned."

An official site for the film, tentatively titled: Getting Up: Legends of New Radius, gives fans the opportunity to sign a letter of support which states that this effort is focused on getting the film made correctly, and steering clear of "the same old overproduced, underwhelming formula." Check out the trailer.
