Pusha T Says His New Album Is Produced by the Neptunes and Kanye West

In his first interview in over two years, Pusha T linked up with Complex for an interview on 360 with Speedy Morman to speak about his upcoming album, Kanye West, a possible JAY-Z verse, Drake, and his relationship with Def Jam.

While on the topic of his forthcoming album, Pusha T revealed that the project will be entirely produced by The Neptunes and Kanye West. Push has been a close collaborator of both camps throughout his career, notably working closely with Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo during his era with the Clipse and later becoming a major player in Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music in 2009.

“At the end of the day, what I make is masterpieces, when it comes to, like, street hip-hop,” Push explains in the interview. “This particular album is half produced by The Neptunes, half produced by Kanye West. Nobody makes better music with those two entities than me. Like, ever.”

Pusha T goes on to voice his frustration with other emcees working with the production giants, explaining there should be a certain stature of artists to be blessed with a Kanye West or Skateboard P beat.

“I think that you know, there’s a certain standard when dealing with those guys that you have to live up to,” Pusha explains. “I’m just very selfish with that… when it comes to those [Pharrell and Kanye].”

The Virginia emcee’s upcoming album was rumored to be titled, It’s Not Dry Yet, by fans, however, Push confirms this is not the title of his forthcoming record.
