Queen Latifah made a recent appearance on Hot Ones to promote her new movie Hustle with Adam Sandler. During the interview, the rapper/actress talked about her history with Tupac Shakur. Latifah had a small role in Juice, 2Pac's first film, and they were somewhat labelmates for a while, as Latifah began her career on Tommy Boy Records, which was also home to Digital Underground. Shortly after 2Pac's first album, Latifah performed at an LGBTQ venue in San Francisco.
“We toured together, so we went all across the country,” she continued. “I was in San Francisco doing a show. It was my first show over $10,000, which was a New Year’s Eve show at this cool gay club in San Francisco. I was like, ‘Yo I’m here!’ So 2Pac came to club with me. I was like, ‘Yo, 2Pac is in the building!'"
