As White Men Cant Jump celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, Sinqua Walls is up for the lead role, opposite rap artist Jack Harlow (who makes his acting debut) in 20th Century Studios’ reboot of the film . The reboot offers a new spin on Ron Shelton’s 1992 version of the sports comedy, which starred Woody Harrelson, Wesley Snipes and Rosie Perez. The original motion picture followed two street ball hustlers, who originally attempt to hustle each other, then join forces for a much bigger score.

According to Disney Plus Informer, the plot for the new film involves Kamal Allen, who was supposed to follow in the foot steps of his father, an NBA legend. Kamal's anger gets the best of him and he changed his career for the worse. He's now stuck playing pick up games and driving a delivery truck to support his family. A hipster white guy named Jeremy challenges him to a shootout, and they combine forces to see if they can make their hoop dreams a reality.

Harrelson, Snipes and Perez recently reunited to present the award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography at the 2022 Oscars. Calmatic is directing a script from black-ish writer Kenya Barris and Doug Hall, while Brooklyn Nets star Blake Griffin is executive producer.
