West Coast rapper The Game recently blasted his former label Interscope Records for operating “A modern day slave trade.” Last week he shared via Twitter his feelings about the label.
“Fuck Interscope. I meant it when I said it 17 years ago and I mean it today. They’re running a modern-day slave trade and they steal from every single artist. Best decision of my life was parting ways. #stayindependent.” The last Game release on Interscope was Jesus Piece from 2012.
The Game’s Twitter account has since been locked for violating the company’s sensitive media policy. It would seem from the timing that the account was locked due to the tweet, but it could have very well been due to his avatar. The avatar on Game's Twitter account is the image of a skinned monkey by photographer Nick Knight from The Game and Kanye West’s recently released single "Eazy." The graphic image has caught the attention of PETA who criticized the usage. Twitter's sensitive media policy states that users cannot use media that is excessively gory or share violent or adult content.
The game recently called out Ebro, Funk Flex and T.I. for leaving him off of their Top 50 Rapper lists. The game has also declared recently that his new album will solidify him and producer Hit Boy as the next iconic M.C./producer tandem.
