Long Beach emcee Vince Staples’ fifth studio album, Romona Park Broke My Heart, is finally finished. According to Staples, he is waiting for his label to “produce the paper” before he gives the official announcement.

Vince released the visuals to his latest single, “MAGIC,” on Monday (March 7). The music video, titled Romona Broke My Heart: Magic, doubles as a promotional video for Staples’ forthcoming album, as the emcee made it clear that this was just a commercial. “That’s not a video that’s a commercial yall can’t read,” Vince shared to Twitter after releasing the video.

The KENTEN-directed music video finds Vince Staples walking into a convenience store, all battered and bruised with an icepack over his eye following a beatdown that took place earlier at a house party.

A flashback to the party shows Vince pulling up and grabbing a drink before getting into it with a fellow partygoer, before getting jumped by his friends and getting kicked out of the event.

While the video is to be continued, the 28-year-old emcee is evidently proud of his acting performance in the video, dubbing himself “the new Denzel [Washington].”

“Magic video done n-gga I’m the new Denzel,” he wrote in February.

Vince Staples released his self-titled fourth studio album in July 2021, which was produced entirely by Kenny Beats. The project peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard 200.

Look for Vince’s fifth LP titled Ramona Park Broke My Heart to arrive later this year. For now, check out the “MAGIC” video below.
