The Breakfast Club's Charlamagne Tha God spoke recently to MADAMENOIRE about the structure of the Breakfast Club and replacing Angela Yee. Charlamagne says that The Breakfast Club isn't going anywhere and that although it's impossible to replace Yee, they will add new members to the team.

"I'm not going away, Envy is not going away. Angela can't be replaced, but we are a club," the popular radio personality and author said. "The club has to expand and we will bring in new members. If people are wondering will there be new members in The Breakfast Club? Yes." He then explained that there may be multiple new co-hosts. "I don't think that it's going to be one person," he revealed. "It might be two."

You know I have my podcast, Lip Service, and I was thinking I would be able to get something like a weekend situation. I did come from Sirius where I had The Morning After with Angela Yee, and then came here.

Angela Yee announced her exit from the Breakfast Club with a tweet. "The Breakfast Club as you know it is officially over," she tweeted.

She went into greater detail the next day on air. "This is something that I've been wanting to do for years now since way before the pandemic", she explained. "I had actually sat down with our big boss Thea, and I was telling her, 'Look I really want to have my own show.'"

Yee hosted The Breakfast Club alongside Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy for 10 years. The daily morning show airs on more than 100 stations nationwide to more than 8 million monthly listeners. It was inducted into Radio Hall of Fame in 2020.
